This is great app. I used to fix photos after they were shot to try and get the effect I was looking for. With this, I just have to shoot and Im pleased with the results right off the bat. Love the randomness of the shot that turns out and gives my iPhone 4 a real analog feel. A must buy!

I love my Diana camera, and this app is great at giving me the iPhone version of that experience. Id love the feature of using any photo on my phone, but this is great work.

I initially wrote a bad review because I did not understand the interface etc. and after various updates i have more choice. I do wish the app would have some photo filter feature updates though. Other than that this remains my all time fav iPhone photo app (and i have purchased and tested A LOT of photo apps!)

This app is a perfect example of why the app store needs a 7 day free trial option. Or even a 1 day free trial option! Toy Camera has so much potential, but it has a few annoyances that drive me crazy to the point where I dont use the app anymore. Pay for an app I dont use? Thats money wasted. Money wasted = 1 star. The app forgets your previous flash settings when it launches, so, if you prefer the flash to be set to off, you have to do this every time you launch the app. It also forgets flash settings after taking each photo. If you take ten photos, you will have turned off the flash off TEN TIMES. AGGRAVATING. And you shouldnt even consider using this app to take a bunch of photos because youll spend too much time messing with the app and not enough time shooting photos. Click to take a picture. Great! Click again to save the picture you just took? Annoying. Click again to return to the camera after taking a picture? Thats just ignorant. If you take ten photos, youll have to click through the app thirty times... unless you prefer the flash to not fire. Thatll take two more clicks, in which case, 10 photos requires FIFTY clicks. By contrast, an app like Hipstamatic requires one click to take a photo. When the photo is done being processed, the app is ready to take another photo. Ten photos require ten clicks. One per photo. Its a shame theyve made this app so aggravating and annoying to use, because they really got some things right. It has a bunch of filters and there will be some youll love and some you might not, but you can turn off the ones you dont like. Thats a brilliant feature because it means you can use the random filter option and the app will only use the filters you like. Theres also an option to take square photos, but its poorly implemented, meaning that the viewfinder doesnt become a square, so youll have to guess whats in the frame and what isnt. Also, you have to take a photo before getting access to the apps settings. Thats just dumb. This app has great potential, but its so annoying to use that I dont use it. Money wasted. 1 star.

I bought it almost 2 years ago. And it is still useful. If random function could be smarter that will be even better.

Completely overpriced, a waiste of money. It can only shoot pics, cannot use pics from your files, cannot customize effects. Is just a complete waiste of money.

How did this get such good ratings? You cant even use a previously taken pic , you have to take the pic! Its awful! Plus theres only one effect! Im so mad that I bought this!!!!! There are way better apps out there.... Some of them FREE.

They did a good job with this app. I recommend it for camera app lovers.

Ive been using this app for a while now and lately its been sucking in anything but optimal lighting conditions and or any kind of action-shot. Example, take a shot w/ in the app (you know that taking the same picture in any other app, it will preview sharp) and youll notice a blurry preview. If you click to retake, youll see that for a split second, the preview photo focuses and then the camera initiates again. Because you can see the clear photo in the mix, theres obviously something wrong w/ the app that utilizes the iPhone camera function. Also, its not just the preview thats a blur, when waiting for the final result -- its a blur too. Also, please let us choose the filter wed like to apply rather than the randomness. Often times a great photo gets instantly lame from a filter which could have looked great on another but just not on a certain photo / lighting condition. Fix the blur! (its done it on the 3GS & ip4)

And fun! More options would be nice though!

Its alright but its not great and def not worth 2 dollars.

Im a devotee of this kind of photo app, but Toy Camera remains my favorite after using dozens of others. It just has more charm than the rest. I mostly use it on the "random" setting with vignetting turned off, FWIW. Im happy to see the developer actively supporting this classic, nearly perfect app.

No longer saves at full resolution even when chosen at an option. This is with IPhone 4 and iOS 5.0.1.

Developers: pushing vol side button should take pic, that is what native app does. Also consider adding ability to preview different filters after pic is taken. Finally, I had to reboot after uninstalling app (native camera app didnt work).

Its my very favorite camera on iPhone. I love the random setting. So fun!

This app along with their Old Camera used to be my two favorite cameras. Fantastic effects. But then they upgraded it. FAIL They took away the zoom feature and the tap screen to adjust area you are exposing for. Another issue is when you want to change effects you have to get out of the camera screen and go into a menu screen. Too time consuming. Get rid of the grid line option - pointless - and put in a drop down menu for effects. Once a 4.5 star app - now a 2 at best.

I love this app. You dont need to change the filter after you take the picture or preview other filters. If you dont like it, too bad, take another! Its sister app, "Oldcamera" is even better I think. Accurately and beautifully rendering photographic processes from history. I highly recommend changing the resolution to full size while using either app. These print well too! Good work. Surprised more people dont know about this.

No longer saves at full res. instead, only 2448x 1836 :(. If update is issued, then will be rated higher. Previous review: Fantastic simple app that I highly recommend. Has 8 fantastic film filters ranging from high contrast black and white to antique vintage to vivid. Love the random setting in which a filter is applied randomly giving you a surprise with each shot. Easy to use camera app that is a great addition to my collection.
