ToyCamera app for iPhone and iPad

I like this app because you turn it on and shoot in random mode. You never know what it will look like and that is half the fun. You dont have alot of control, but thats the point. Fun App!

I love the images from this app. However, like the iPhone camera you have to press a tiny button to take a picture. Just make the whole screen the button! That would make it much easier to take pictures when you holding the camera over your head or of yourself. Also, once you take a photo and go back to the camera you cant view your photos without exiting the app. It would be nice if there was a photo browser built in if only for the toy camera photos it would be nice. If there was an option to "auto apply" effects. I can delete the photo if I dont like it, dont ask me to apply the effect. Just icing on the cake, but if the effects were a little faster that would be fine by me. These problems are small. Buy this app the photos that come out of it are beautiful. To those complaining that you cant add effects to old photos or choose your effect are missing the point of the app. This mimics a toy camera, like a holga or any cheap camera you dont know how the picture is going to turn out. You get what you get thats the fun of it. . This is a toy camera simulator not an image editor.

Why have a link to facebook if you wont take friend requests?

I use this app daily and LOVE it. Ive paid loads of money for a short list of camera apps I never use. But Id buy this one over and over - if I had to - no question.

This is perhaps one of the simplest apps in the app store, yet it does exactly what it advertises.

Love the new update with Twitter! Awesome application it puts a little more reality in my reality:) please add a proper Polaroid frame instead of just a white box!

BIG NOTE - you can only take pictures in the app and you cant switch the filters, you have to take it with the actual filture on it. I just bought it a minute ago and Ive already taken it off my phone as other apps I have will allow me to do everything this will and more. if you want to be restricted it what you do, and some people do which is fine, then buy this. if you want to be able to change what you want and have freedom then DONT BUY THIS

Why cant I change filter after shooting? Why cant I apply filter to existing photo? Why cant I just delete this app? And, I wonder why I bought this app. Its too annoying to use. Im waiting for 2.0. This version is TERRIBLE.

It wont open and when it does, it closes again. I havent even been able to use it once!

For the same price you can get a far superior app! I bought this and thought is was ok until I bought Hipstamatic. It has the same effects as this one plus more. And the ones they do have the same are better quality too. Not to mention Hipstamatic isnt random! Please go read the reviews for Hipstamatic before you buy this and waste your $ like I did!

I just bought this for my iPod touch and it wont work, it goes back to the main screen.

This app is a perfect example of why the app store needs a 7 day free trial option. Or even a 1 day free trial option! Toy Camera has so much potential, but it has a few annoyances that drive me crazy to the point where I dont use the app anymore. Pay for an app I dont use? Thats money wasted. Money wasted = 1 star. The app forgets your previous flash settings when it launches, so, if you prefer the flash to be set to off, you have to do this every time you launch the app. It also forgets flash settings after taking each photo. If you take ten photos, you will have turned off the flash off TEN TIMES. AGGRAVATING. And you shouldnt even consider using this app to take a bunch of photos because youll spend too much time messing with the app and not enough time shooting photos. Click to take a picture. Great! Click again to save the picture you just took? Annoying. Click again to return to the camera after taking a picture? Thats just ignorant. If you take ten photos, youll have to click through the app thirty times... unless you prefer the flash to not fire. Thatll take two more clicks, in which case, 10 photos requires FIFTY clicks. By contrast, an app like Hipstamatic requires one click to take a photo. When the photo is done being processed, the app is ready to take another photo. Ten photos require ten clicks. One per photo. Its a shame theyve made this app so aggravating and annoying to use, because they really got some things right. It has a bunch of filters and there will be some youll love and some you might not, but you can turn off the ones you dont like. Thats a brilliant feature because it means you can use the random filter option and the app will only use the filters you like. Theres also an option to take square photos, but its poorly implemented, meaning that the viewfinder doesnt become a square, so youll have to guess whats in the frame and what isnt. Also, you have to take a photo before getting access to the apps settings. Thats just dumb. This app has great potential, but its so annoying to use that I dont use it. Money wasted. 1 star.
